Horrible History Walk: The King's Escape

• Start: Saturday 03 Sep 2022 @ 10:00 Please allow sufficient preparation time so we can depart promptly.
• Distance: 14.5 km (9 miles).
• Route Type: Point-to-Point, this is a linear route that starts at point A and ends at point B.
• Grade: Moderate
• Some Stiles.
• Snacks: Please bring a packed lunch, snacks and plenty to drink..
• Post Walk Refreshments: King Charles House, Worcester - We'll reserve tables at the pub when we pass it..
• There may be a photo opportunity for the press to promote the club and pub at the start or end of the walk. Please make the walk leader aware if you don't want to be included in any photographs.
• No dogs please (registered assistance dogs by prior arrangement with the walk leader).
• Everyone under 18 participating in Ramblers walks and other activities must be accompanied by a responsible adult, such as a parent, guardian, teacher or youth worker.
• Personal details may be used for walk management and NHS contact tracing.

Bus/Train walk to commemorate the Battle of Worcester 3 September 1651 and the escape of King Charles II. Meet up outside the Guildhall, Worcester then around to the King Charles statue and pub and on to the Commandery. We then follow the Monarch's Way all the way to Droitwich most of which is on the Worcester & Birmingham and Droitwich Canals. Return to Worcester by bus or train with the option to sample the beers and/or food at King Charles House pub.
